WILLIAMSTOWN —For the second year in a row, Williams College’s outreach group Ephs Out Loud will host its Berkshire Symphony Family Concert on Saturday, March 4,, at 2 p.m. in Chapin Hall. The event is free and open to the public.
The event starts at 1 p.m. with musical games and activities, a workshop offered by the Williams choirs, and an interactive performance of Holst’s The Planets by the Berkshire Symphony with conductor Ronald Feldman.
Saturday’s event is presented in partnership with Kids 4 Harmony, an after school music program where students learn to play an instrument, read music, and participate in chorus. The event will also showcase a range of musical instruments as well as art by local elementary students. The event aims to cultivate a love of music in children from the community.
Ephs Out Loud is a student group dedicated to promoting music education and community outreach. Anna DeLoi ’18 and Abigail Soloway ’18 started the group last year, and since then, members of Ephs Out Loud have gone to local schools and other community groups to provide lessons, performances, and workshops.
The Department of Music and the Center for Learning in Action are sponsors of this event.
