GREAT BARRINGTON — With the overwhelming statistics on childhood obesity in the United States, Berkshire Family Focus is always on the look out for fun and free opportunities for parents and children to become healthy and active together and this week we have found one in South Berkshire County. On Saturday, March 9, Berkshire South Regional Community Center will hold its fifth Annual Health and Wellness Day, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
This fun and free event will feature a variety of fitness and wellness demonstrations for children, as well as adults. Some of the activities for kids will include gymnastics, basketball and obstacle course challenges. Grown-ups will be able to attend full workouts and fitness classes. Representatives from Fairview Hospital, Weight Watchers, Hospice Care of the Berkshires, CHP Dermascan and The Good Dog Foundation also will be on hand to answer questions and to provide attendees with information in regards to their health.
Again, the event is free. Berkshire South Regional Community Center is located at 15 Crissey Road in Great Barrington. For more information go online to berkshiresouth.org.
