Through May 2013: “Curiosity,” featuring nine internationally-acclaimed artists, the works in Curiosity represent a wide range of materials and explore themes that many children are curious about, such as dinosaurs, superheroes, ninjas, cowboys, monsters,and fantasy. The Art Cabaret, an art-making studio, will serve up inspiring art materials for children to explore at café-style seating.
The Bus Stand, designed by Kidspace at MASS MoCA exhibiting artist Victoria Palermo, is a public artwork and permanent addition to the North Adams community, adding to the movement to bring more public art to the city through the efforts of DownStreet Art.
“Freedom: Just another word for … ,” an exhibit that will examine the meaning of freedom, featuring four artists’ work that illustrates both the path to freedom and the limitations placed on it, as well as an installation outside the museum replicating the Berlin Wall to further illustrate the walls that restrict our freedom. The Wall was created by Palestinian and Israeli children and layered with additional images by Catholic and Protestant children from Northern Ireland.
