New year’s is a time for reflection and revolution. We look back at the year and think about what we did, and what we could do better. But wouldn’t this time capsule craft be a wonderful tradition to begin with your children?
There are a couple of variations of the craft which was first posted on Kelli Crowe and re-created and then adapted at the Red Ted Art blog. My favorite rendition of this family fun craft and tradition, was taking the year to fill the jar with all the things your family did during the year (movie tickets, photos, artwork etc.) and then take some time on New Year’s Eve to dig and reflect on what you have done in the past year, and what you plan to do in the new year.
I was forwarded (or shall I say tagged in a Facebook post) this craft courtesy of one of our Craft Corner creatives, Susan Robert. And you can learn more about it at kellicrowe.typepad.com.
Feel free to send us photos of your family’s New Year’s time capsule to share on social media. On Instagram simply use the hashtag #berkshirefamilyfocus. Email us your photo at firstname.lastname@example.org or tag us on Facebook and Twitter.
Have fun and … Happy New Year!
