Feeling festive? These crayon ornament crafts are super easy to make and turn out looking great! I made these with my preschoolers and they loved watching the wax melt inside the ornament and transform the glass ball in to a rainbow of colors. Warning: the heating of the ornament should be done by an adult as it will get hot as you heat it.
- Clear glass ornaments
- Old crayons
- Hair dryer
Step 1: Peel the crayons and cut them into 1/4 to 1/2 inch pieces.
Step 2: Place 3 to 4 pieces of crayon into the ornament and return the top to the ornament. Choosing a variety of colors makes the ornament very interesting.
Step 3: Wearing gloves heat the crayons with the hair dryer. The top will get hot! It will take about 2 minutes for the crayons to begin to melt, after they start melting, turn the ornament to cover the inside with wax.
Step 4: Tie a ribbon on and hang on your tree.
